“The man who said they wouldn’t hand over power has flown his children to the United States this evening. We are focusing on them.” This assertion was made by none other than an astute NDC politician, Malik Basintale, whom the NPP finds difficult to deal with, due to his ample knowledge of the ruling party’s financial mismanagement, corruption, money laundering, state capture, and reckless spending that has caused the economy, businesses, and investments to crash.
Malik Basintale, along with other NPP politicians like Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa, is fighting serious financial crimes within the NPP government with impunity, in a country where it is difficult for many politicians to remain decent people and has the highest number of appointed judges to the Supreme Court in West Africa. Despite this, Akufo Addo told Ghanaians that John Mahama, the former leader of Ghana, is corrupt and incompetent, and therefore, makes the nation a better place; nothing is progressing in the country.
Following his graduation from the University of Ghana in 2018, the 21-year-old Basintale gained notoriety as the party’s youngest member and regional executive of the NDC. He has been sharing his opinions on various media platforms with selflessness. Though the NPP government is trying to convince the world that Ghana is a democracy, Akufo Addo, Salam Mustapha, and Bryan Acheampong have threatened Ghanaians in the past that the ruling government will never give up power to the NDC.
In addition to not handing over power, Bryan Acheampong asserts that his failed government will do all within its ability to hold onto power and that anyone who disagrees with him should go and burn the sea. In response to Bryan Acheampong’s third threat, Basintale declared, “His properties, including his hotel, can certainly be burned, even though the sea cannot.” I felt obliged to comment, asking IGP George Dampare to decline to provide security to someone of his kind.
It appears that Bryan Acheampong realized that, should there be any election violence, his life, his children’s lives, and his properties could be at risk following Malik Basintale’s statement and my comment that he should not be given protection for inciting violence. I wasn’t surprised when Malik Basintale said that Bryan Acheampong has flown his children out of the country to the United States of America. After showing Ghanaians that he is prepared for violence, why did he take that action?
The saying from Ghana that reads, “Those who decapitate the heads of people, fear to sleep to avoid the same fate,” is starting to stick with me. Is Akufo Addo attempting to withhold his handover to the NDC because all of his children were born in the UK? Any wise leader understands the dangers of violence, but they choose to overlook it in the hopes of ensuring family security, leaving Ghanaians to perish in a fire for which they bear no responsibility. That is not acceptable.
Bryan Acheampong believes that flying his kids to the United States of America is the wisest course of action, even though he has been publicly encouraging violence from political platforms. This demonstrates the disrespect and uncaring the NPP politicians have shown for Ghanaians. Why should they incite violence while trying to provide their family with safety and security in advanced countries? Is it the kind of government Ghanaians believe in to give them a better future? I don’t think so.
In an article titled “The Revelation Of Jean Mensa’s Plans To Flee The Country After 2024 Election,” which I wrote on October 23, 2023, I asked Ghanaians they should prevent the EC head from leaving the country after rigging the election in favor of Bawumia. I am very sure that many NPP politicians have already begun removing their children from the country, so to avoid being victims of electoral violence, even though December 7th is still a ways off.
Malik Basintale questioned the current state of the economy, in response to Bawumia’s assertion that “The economy will grow and grow that people will come from neighboring countries to work.” He claims that the government of Akufo Addo-Bawumia has printed GHC 71 billion through the Bank of Ghana and spoke about contracts that have been given to unqualified NPP politicians, such as the president’s daughter and Asante Bediatuo, that aren’t helping Ghana advance.
Ghana is irreparably damaged and has such a massive debt that our children and great-grandchildren will be unable to pay it off in ten years. Every wise Ghanaian should take note of the NPP government’s capture of the country’s finances and vital businesses, as documented in the “Agyapadie book.” This is strong evidence that the NPP doesn’t care about the suffering Ghanaians, therefore, they should be removed from power.
