The New Patriotic Party’s Vice Presidential candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has blamed the previous National Democratic Congress government for the country’s problems.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh was addressing a mini rally at the Effiakuma Police Park, ahead of the party’s 2024 manifesto launch on Sunday.
He slammed the NDC, saying they represent the past, while the NPP embodies the future. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh emphasized the NPP’s role as the savior, redeeming Ghanaians from the NDC’s mess.
“Don’t vote based on hardship alone. If the current challenges had occurred under NDC’s leadership, I assure you it would have been even more severe.
“During his presidency, without the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia-Ukraine war, he threatened to withhold salaries from teachers and nurses. So, I ask, what would he do in today’s circumstances?”
Some party leaders and parliamentary candidates also spoke, highlighting the NPP’s achievements and the need for a massive win.
“I understand the bitterness and frustration that many of you feel, but I can confidently say that I’m the most frustrated person among all. However, we’ve put our differences aside for the love of the party.
So, I implore you to forgive your brothers and sisters, and let’s work together towards a victorious outcome in the upcoming elections.” Kennedy Agyapong appealed.
Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, Joe Ghartey, urged Ghanaians to support the vision of Dr. Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
The NPP’s manifesto launch is scheduled for Sunday.
