The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pledged to resist any unlawful attempts by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to win the upcoming December 7 elections.
This response follows comments by the Member of Parliament for Abetifi and Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong, who claimed the NPP would do everything possible to win the December polls.
NDC’s Deputy General Secretary Mustapha Gbande in an interview with Citi News said the party will identify and address any individual or group of persons threatening Ghana’s democracy.
“We will not burn the sea and I can assure Bryan Acheampong that the nonsense that they [his government] showed Ghanaians in 2020, a repetition of same will make people like himself victims of their schemes. Ghana will not die. Ghana will stay strong. Ghana will stay united.
“But we will fish out hoodlums and hot-headed people like Bryan Acheampong who are a danger and a threat to our democracy. I can give him that assurance that an inch of an attempt to do what is unlawful will be fiercely resisted and the persons who will be engaged will be singled out and dealt with.
“It doesn’t matter what it takes for us to do that. That will be done.”
