In a shocking turn of events, two top executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency have been remanded in police custody by the Effiduase Circuit Court for allegedly stealing 45 electricity poles intended for community development.
Justice Amo, the Constituency Secretary, and Samson Boamah, the First Vice Constituency Chairman, were apprehended alongside two others—Musah Seidu, a driver with Zoomlion, and Enoch Takyi, an electrician. The stolen poles were reportedly meant for electrification projects in parts of Drobonso, including a local E-Block school.
The accused will remain in police cells for the next three weeks as they await their fate in the upcoming court hearing. The case has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about the integrity of local leaders entrusted with public resources.
