In a startling revelation by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, the intricate dealings of Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng have come to light. According to Ablakwa, despite Boateng’s declarations that he has never received any government contracts from the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration, evidence suggests otherwise. The contracts, worth GHS 7 million, were awarded to entities linked to Boateng’s second identity, Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
The evidence provided by Ablakwa includes payment vouchers showing substantial sums paid to two companies: EL Dunamis Limited and JNS Talent Centre Limited. Both companies are owned by Kwabena Adu Gyamfi. Each company received GHS 3.5 million for the supply of paper towels to the Ministry of Health in 2021. JNS Talent received payment on 23rd July 2021, while EL Dunamis was paid on 17th August 2021.
The contracts were single-sourced, raising questions about the procurement process and oversight. Ablakwa’s expose reveals a potential abuse of power and trust, highlighting the deceptive practices employed by Boateng to secure these lucrative contracts.
“This revelation is a clear demonstration of how parliamentary oversight can unearth fraudulent schemes that otherwise go unnoticed,” said Ablakwa. “Rev. Boateng, under the guise of his second identity, Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, managed to deceive many with his dishonest sermons and contract-induced prophecies. This is a significant breach of trust and integrity, and we must ensure such actions are not condoned.”
The total amount paid, GHS 7 million, for paper towels, has also sparked public outrage and disbelief. The sheer volume and cost of the tissues supplied under these contracts have left many questioning the necessity and transparency of such deals.
Ablakwa’s revelations underscore the need for stricter oversight and accountability within the government’s procurement processes. The dual identity scheme employed by Boateng is a stark reminder of the lengths to which individuals will go to exploit their positions for personal gain.
As the nation grapples with this revelation, calls for a thorough investigation into these contracts and Boateng’s dealings have intensified. The public awaits further actions from the relevant authorities to address this breach of trust and to implement measures that prevent such occurrences in the future.
“May God have mercy on humankind,” Ablakwa remarked, reflecting the disillusionment and betrayal felt by many in the wake of these revelations. The uncovering of this dual identity scheme serves as a critical reminder of the importance of transparency, integrity, and accountability in public office.
