NPP chairman in Binduri defects to NDC, cries bitterly in public

A 70-year-old New Patriotic Party polling station chairman for the Tegbilla polling station in Binduri Constituency has crossed carpet to the NDC following John Mahama’s visit to the area.

John Abugri upon meeting the NDC flagbearer cried bitterly and asked for baptism from him.

Mr. Abugri has been a key member of the NPP since 1992 and has always voted against NDC, this according to him, is his biggest regrets in life and he asked for forgiveness from the NDC.

According to him, what triggered him to cross carpet is the insecurity and impunity within the Bawku area coupled with military brutalities and hardship.

Some individuals in the Bawku area are accusing the NPP for allowing the Bawku conflict to resurface after several years of peace.
