John Dramani Mahama, the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), will engage the media in Bolgatanga on Wednesday, bringing his four-day campaign tour of the Upper East Region to a close. The media encounter, dubbed #MahamaConversations, will be broadcast live on radio and television networks across the region and the country.
According to Campaign Spokesperson Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the event will also be streamed live on all Mahama social media pages from 8:00 am. This engagement will provide journalists with another opportunity to ask the NDC leader questions about his re-election bid, his transformative policy proposals, and matters specific to the Upper East Region.
The four-day #Mahama4Change2024 campaign tour, which concluded on Tuesday night, saw Mr. Mahama engaging in community meetings and interactions with traditional and religious leaders, as well as women’s groups. He was accompanied by Campaign Manager Professor Joshua Alabi, former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, and various Regional and Constituency executives.
Throughout the tour, Mr. Mahama promised to fix the economy and explained the benefits of his proposed policies, including a 24-hour economy, the establishment of a Women’s Development Bank, and the creation of Farmer Service Centres to provide easy access to farming implements, equipment, seedlings, and other support services on credit. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of agro-processing factories at strategic locations to boost food production and security.
Visiting all fifteen constituencies in the region, Mr. Mahama took the opportunity to listen to opinion leaders and their expectations. He reiterated his commitment to completing abandoned projects, aiming to deliver a comprehensive development agenda for the region and the country as a whole.
The upcoming media encounter in Bolgatanga promises to be a significant event, as it will allow Mr. Mahama to further articulate his vision and respond to pressing questions from the media, thus setting the stage for the next phase of his campaign.
