We’ll fully support our parliamentary candidate – Twifo Atti-Morkwa NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Twifo Atti-Morkwa in the Central Region has pledged to provide the necessary support for its parliamentary candidate, Ebenezer Dwamena, following his remand into police custody.

Mr. Dwamena, along with two others, were remanded into police custody on Wednesday, July 31, for allegedly failing to deliver a vehicle after receiving payment from a businessman in Twifo Praso.

The three face charges of conspiracy to defraud by false pretenses and false pretenses.

In an interview with Citi News, the NPP communications officer for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Charles Amoah, stated that the candidate’s legal representatives will receive full backing from the party.

“Since the case is now in court, we are leaving it to the legal people to intervene in whatever processes will be done. Her Lordship gave us two weeks and so we are now waiting and whatever can be done will be done early.”

According to the constituency communication officer for the party in Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Dwamena introduced some friends to a car dealer after he successfully purchased a vehicle from them.

The car dealer after successfully transferring money into his account failed to produce the vehicle forcing the buyers to drag the matter to court leading to the Parliamentary candidate being remanded.

The presiding judge, Her Ladyship Sophia Priscila Yeboa remanded the suspect into police custody while the matter has been forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office for advice.
