The Coalition of La Associations and the GaDangme Coalition Against Land Injustice will begin a series of demonstrations on Tuesday, July 30, against what they view as the unethical seizure of lands by political entities in the Greater Accra Region.
The group is particularly focused on the Trade Fair land, which encompasses areas occupied by Labadi Beach and La Palm Royal Beach Hotels.
They alleged that the original owners have not received the legally required compensation.
Additionally, they have raised concerns about the Prisons Service lands at Cantonments, where a private developer plans to redevelop the facilities and use part of the land for private business.
Meanwhile, the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament is scheduled to visit the Ghana Prisons Service Barracks at Cantonments and the Ghana Prisons Service land at Roman Ridge in Accra, on Tuesday to address the concerns raised by the youth group.
