Former Minister of the Interior, Ambrose Dery, has revealed that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the now-defunct DKM Microfinance, Martin Delle, is a registered member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Dery stated that Delle’s membership dates back to before 2016, and he remains a current member in good standing.
“He is a Ghanaian and has the right to vote. He has been a member of the NPP in the Nandom constituency since before 2016 and continues to be a member now,” Dery disclosed.
Last week, social media erupted when a photo surfaced of Martin Delle presenting a smock to the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, during his tour of the Upper East Region.
In response, the Minister of State at the Presidency, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nandom, refuted claims linking Delle to the flagbearer’s campaign.
He clarified that Delle, a member of the NPP, was not part of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team, but rather a member of the royal family presenting the smock on behalf of the chief.
“He is a member of the royal family and was presenting that smock on behalf of the chief who had asked that it be given in the presence of all of us and I want people to stop this whole business. He is not part of Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team but he is a member of the NPP,” Dery emphasized.
