During the one-year anniversary celebration of Dumasua Nkosouhene, Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II voiced strong disapproval over the recent actions of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT). The event, held today, became a platform for the Dormaahene to express his concerns and issue a stern warning regarding the sale of national assets.
Dr. Agyemang Badu II specifically addressed the decision by SSNIT to sell 60% of the shares of six hotels to Bryan Acheampong. He criticized this move, highlighting the need for transparency and accountability in the management of national assets. “Politicians are made to serve the people, not to steal and buy national assets,” he stated emphatically.
In his speech, the Dormaahene called on other chiefs to be more vocal about national matters and not to remain passive observers. He encouraged them to overcome any fears of being labeled as partisan when they speak out. “Chiefs should talk and not be scared of others saying they speak for a political party,” he urged.
