Ransford Antwi Takes Lead in Sunyani East Race as Hon. Ameyaw Cheremeh Trails Behind – Global InfoAnalytics Poll Results

In the latest polling results released by Global InfoAnalytics, the race for the Sunyani East parliamentary seat has taken a surprising turn. Independent candidate Ransford Antwi has surged to the lead, capturing 38% of the vote, while incumbent Hon. Kwesi Ameyaw Cheremeh of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) finds himself lagging with only 13%.

The poll, which reflects the current political landscape in Sunyani East, shows a notable shift in voter sentiment. Seid Mubarak of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) holds a steady 27%, positioning him as a significant contender but still behind Antwi. The remaining 22% of respondents are undecided, adding an element of unpredictability to the final outcome.

Ransford Antwi’s rise in the polls signifies a major challenge to the established political order in the constituency. His independent candidacy appears to be resonating with voters who are seeking a change from the traditional party lines. On the other hand, Hon. Kwesi Ameyaw Cheremeh’s lower polling numbers highlight a potential struggle for the incumbent, who faces the dual challenge of overcoming a strong independent contender while also addressing the concerns of an electorate that appears divided.

The high percentage of undecided voters underscores the volatility of the current political climate in Sunyani East. With nearly a quarter of voters yet to make a definitive choice, the final weeks leading up to the election will be crucial in determining the ultimate outcome.

As the election approaches, both candidates and their supporters will be intensifying their campaigns in an effort to sway the undecided voters and solidify their positions. The shifting dynamics in Sunyani East reflect broader trends in Ghanaian politics, where traditional party strongholds are increasingly being tested by independent and alternative candidates.
