The Chief of Defense Staff, Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, and Military Secretary, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi are expected to testify in the ongoing ambulance procurement trial.
When the case was called, Counsel for the Chief of Defense Staff, Lawyer Gbekler told the court that his client was absent because he had not been served with the subpoena.
Lawyers for third accused, Richard Jakpa filed subpoenas for the Chief of Defense Staff and the Military Secretary.
The officials are expected to testify concerning documents submitted by the prosecution which asserted that the businessman was dismissed from the military in 2007 for unsatisfactory performance and failure to pass promotional exam.
The documents, submitted by the prosecution has since been admitted into evidence.
Counsel for Richard Jakpa is of the view that the documents are irrelevant to the case and meant to taint the credibility of their client.
