The inauguration of the NDC UK-IRELAND Chapter’s Coventry branch on Saturday, July 13th, was not only a celebration of expansion but also an opportunity to highlight the importance of empowering skills among members. The event, attended by Chapter Chairman Connrad Dumbah and other notable NDC figures, marked the 22nd branch of the chapter and emphasized the development of skills essential for personal and collective growth.
Chairman Connrad Dumbah, addressing the attendees, emphasized the role of empowering skills in building a strong and effective party. He highlighted communication skills, problem-solving abilities, emotional intelligence, resilience, self-awareness, and assertiveness as key attributes that can help members feel confident, capable, and in control of their lives and contributions to the party.
National Deputy General Secretary Mr. Mustapha Gbande underscored the importance of these skills in navigating the challenges of political engagement and activism. He encouraged members to develop and hone these abilities to enhance their effectiveness in party operations and in their personal lives.
Dr. William Ahadzi, Rector of the NDC Party School, reiterated the significance of continuous education and training in empowering members. He emphasized that the party school is dedicated to providing members with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute meaningfully to the NDC’s mission. Dr. Ahadzi’s focus on education aligns with the broader goal of equipping members with empowering skills that can drive personal and organizational success.
Former chapter chairman Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Kwakye, former chapter secretary Mr. Samuel Quaye, and former chapter organiser Mr. Alfred Boyen shared their insights on the importance of these skills in their own experiences within the NDC. They encouraged the Coventry branch members to embrace opportunities for learning and development, fostering a culture of empowerment and growth.
