Dr. Omane Boamah, the Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has issued a stern warning to the top officials of the EC, urging them to desist from any attempts to manipulate the electoral process.
In a statement marked by urgency and concern, Dr. Boamah highlighted the discontent brewing among the EC’s ground staff. “The TWO MEN at the top echelons of the Electoral Commission seeking to impose Presiding Officers and Presidential Ballot Issuers on some Regional Directors and District Electoral Officers must abandon the crooked idea immediately,” he declared.
This discontent, according to Dr. Boamah, is not a recent development. He pointed out that EC staff nearly revolted a few weeks ago due to several unresolved grievances. Dr. Boamah’s message was unequivocal: “Stop interfering because we know, and we will know every further step and every move you make!” He warned the EC officials against being manipulated by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), which he accused of employing dubious strategies to influence the upcoming elections.
He concluded with a clear caution: “If you do, there shall be lawful consequences soon. STOP IT.”
