In a recent statement, Okudzeto Ablakwa, a prominent member of Parliament, has urged Dani Ike Estate Developers Limited to cease their harassment of public officials and seek a refund from those who fraudulently sold them prime Cantonments land belonging to the Department of Parks and Gardens.
Ablakwa praised the officials of the Department of Parks and Gardens for their unwavering and patriotic resistance against the encroachment attempts. He highlighted the historical significance of the 10.8-acre land, which was allocated on October 2, 1952, by the then colonial Commissioner of Lands as Ghana’s foremost Horticultural Nursery. This green open space has since been a crucial site for cultivating diverse tree species and nurturing seedlings to support the nation’s environmental goals.
“We shall never allow our Parks and Gardens land to be sold!” declared Ablakwa, underscoring the community’s commitment to preserving the land for its intended purpose.
He also announced that Parliament is preparing to launch an inquiry into what he termed an “ongoing despicable state capture.” The inquiry will include live public hearings where those who have been harassing public officials will be called to testify.
Ablakwa’s statement concludes with a powerful message of resistance and patriotism: “Ugly State Capture shall be defeated! For God and Country. Ghana First ????????”
This decisive stance reaffirms the government’s dedication to protecting public lands and ensuring that fraudulent transactions do not undermine national interests.
