Tension in Bole as soldiers allegedly beat two NPP executives

Two persons from Bole are currently battling for their lives after they were allegedly beaten by military operatives at an illegal mining (Galamsey) area in the Bole District.

According to sources in the area, the military operatives were sent by the Savannah Regional Minister.

The NPP Vice- Chairman for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Yakubu Mahama, and one other victim are currently receiving treatment at the Bole Government Hospital.

It is said that the military personnel have always been used to protect some Chinese miners who are also into illegal mining in the Bole area.

A confrontation ensued between the military personnel and Yakubu Mahama, who is also into Galamsey, thus leading to the military brutally beating him and his colleague.

Meanwhile, some irate youth in bole besieged the Bole Police station where the victims have been sent by the military.

The military officers later resorted to firing warning shots in an attempt to disperse the crowd.
