Kwame Blay, son of former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Freddie Blay, has issued a legal threat to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu.
This development follows Ablakwa’s allegations that the Blay family is involved in an unlawful attempt to acquire land from the Labadi Beach Hotel, a state-owned property in Accra.
The accusations have sparked a heated exchange, with Mr. Blay demanding an apology from Ablakwa, journalist Johnnie Hughes, and the management of Media General, while also suggesting potential legal consequences.
Despite the mounting pressure, Ablakwa has remained firm, challenging Blay to proceed with legal action and hinting at further revelations concerning the alleged state capture.
In an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, Mr. Kwame Blay expressed his disbelief at Ablakwa’s claims.
He also emphasized the damaging impact these allegations have had on his family’s reputation.
“It is so preposterous that a learned gentleman like Ablakwa would come and spew such utter rubbish. It is unfair to drag our good name through the mud.
“By the middle of next week, he will hear from our lawyers very strongly and in different [batches]. Mind you, he has mentioned three individuals, so he should be very careful,” he stated.
