Don’t name a running mate with financial scandals hanging around their neck – Franklin Cudjoe cautions NPP

Founding President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has urged the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be wary and not name a running mate with so many financial scandals.

In a post on Facebook, he said Ghana needs candidates that will save the country from corruption rather than worsen the canker.

“The NPP must be wary naming running mates with financial scandals hanging around their necks. We need candidates to be Ghana’s retribution against corruption, not to deepen it,” Franklin Cudjoe said.

The IMANI African founder further bemoaned, “Sadly, grand theft has emasculated and swallowed the very few good folks in the government. All corruption indices have given up trying.”

Flagbearer of the ruling NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to name his running mate in the coming weeks.

Reports indicate that he has settled on Energy Minister Mathew Opoku Prempeh to join him as running mate.

Before the decision was made, it was understood that Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum was considered for the role.
