Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has branded President Akufo-Addo’s government as one that is clueless and incompetent.
This is his conclusion following the depreciation of the cedi that has left businesses crying over the loss of capital.
In a post on social media, the former President recounted how President Akufo-Addo criticised his then-NDC government in 2016 at a time when $1 was trading for GHS3.74p.
“The current depreciation of the Ghana Cedi against the US dollar is because of bad leadership. We should not be where we are today to buy dollar for 3.74. Vote for change,” President Akufo-Addo said in a Tweet at the time.
Reacting to that Tweet, John Dramani Mahama lambasted the current government, insisting that it is an administration that is into looting and sharing.
He said when voted president in the 2024 General Election, he would reset and repair the damage done to the economy as a result of the depreciation of the cedi under the NPP government.
“An obviously clueless, incompetent & ‘yenkyendi’ government. The $ is today trading above 15 GHC.
“I promise Ghanaians, I will RESET and repair the damage to the Ghanaian economy,” John Dramani Mahama said.
