Voter Transfer Exercise Marred by Alleged Intimidation and Manipulation in Bono Region – NDC Bono Regional Women Organizer

The voter transfer exercise is conducted to give voters the opportunity to transfer their votes to where they deem comfortable and appropriate to vote in the upcoming 2024 parliamentary and presidential elections.

The purpose of this exercise is defeated by the evil agenda of some politicians, especially, in the New Patriotic party.

Since the inception of the exercise, People are seen transported or conveyed to polling stations in constituencies seem to be strong holes of the NDC. In these constituencies, seating MPs belong to the NDC and all efforts or mechanisms are put in place to relief them of those seats.

I have observed with keen interest of events in some polling stations, especially, strong holes of NDC in the Bono region where constant harassment of people has become a norm.

The new patriotic party doesn’t care about how many lives will be lost to win the 2024 election but will transport people who are never in any way related to these constituencies.

NDC party agents are being harassed and intimidated by some agents of NPP upon serious contestation by NDC agents when they have a doubt of people seeking to transfer their votes to the constituencies. These constituencies are often flooded with security personnels who believe to be aiding the actions of the NPP agents.

Let me use this opportunity to appeal to my fellow women in the region to advise thier husbands, brothers and sons to desist from being used by these selfish politicians in the name of transferring their votes to unseating NDC incumbent members of parliament which would be met with resistance

Thank you

Hon. Hajia Fati Abubakar
Bono Regional Women Organizer
