The NDC Regional Communication Officer, Mr Suleman Mohammed in a press release, adumbrated on a number of issues across the various sectors to expose the lies peddled by the NPP Presidential Candidate during his tour in the Bono East Region.

BONO EAST COMMUNICATIONS BUREAU OF NDC.
MOMENT OF TRUTH : ALHAJI MAHAMUDU BAWUMIA LIES AGAIN.
16/05/2024.
Indeed, words are easy to author, but translating the words into actions is what is severely lacking in Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia. It must be stated that if the numerous policy solutions that Dr. Bawumia espoused whiles in opposition were put into practice, then Ghana would have been on a different pedestal. A pedestal that must not take Ghana back to IMF as Head of Ghana’s Economic Management Team. Unfortunately, that is not the case.
It is recalled that, on Friday the 10th May, 2024,H.E. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia took his campaign tour to the Bono East Region. He met with a host of identifiable groups, including Chiefs, Clergy, Auto Mechanics (magazine workers), Council of Zongo Chiefs and Ulamas, Traders at Techiman market and ended with Youth Connect at Techiman Community Centre. While interacting with them, he made numerous promises and told lies some of which are listed below;
1. He promised to pay Chiefs and Queen Mothers allowance.
2. He claimed he does not support LGBTQ+.
3. He promised to bring massive development to the region.
4. He promised to give incentives to the Clergy.
5. Instituting Tax Amnesty.
6. Changing the Chieftaincy Act to give chiefs powers
to summon citizenry to their palaces.
7. Introducing Flat Tax Regime
8. He lied that both Nursing and Teacher Trainees Allowances have been restored and promptly paid.
9. He lied that they have built more infrastructure than any other government in Ghana as well as others.
What is however intriguing about this whole wasted visit of the Veep is that, the Bono East Region remains one of the regions that did not benefit from this current government under the stewardship of President Akufo Addo and the driver’s mate, Dr Mahmudu Bawumia. Projects that were being carried out by the NDC government in the region have been left to rot. Those in the health sector, education sector, road infrastructure, rural electrification, water and sanitation, etc, mostly have been abandoned by the driver’s mate and his Boss, the Reckless and Incompetent Driver. We will help our readers and listeners as well to appreciate the gravity of the abandoned projects in the Bono East Region by stating them on a sectoral basis while indicating their locations. Lest we forget, the list also includes promises that were made by President Akuffo Addo and his driver’s mate Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, which have not seen the light of day.
ROADS
In the area of roads, it is apparent that it is the worst affected. Since NPP assumed the reigns of governance of this country, they have not completed any major road across the region. Most roads that were under construction by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama have been abandoned, and the few ones that they claim they are doing have not received any serious commitment.
For instance, the Atebubu – Kwame Danso Road is currently in a deplorable state. Commuters are compelled to endure several kilometres of huge manholes some of which end up being robbed by armed robbers.
Other roads such as;
Amoma Nkwanta to Agyina road in the Kintampo South District, Soronuase to Busuama Road, Kintampo town roads in the Kintampo North Municipal, Offuman to Wenchi Road, Asueyi to Mesidan to Buoyem Road in the Techiman North District, Tanoboase to Yefri Road, Boabeng to Busunya Road and Tanko to Fiama Road in the Nkoranza North District. Again, Yeji town roads are terribly bad. Still on the roads, the Nyankotere to Kajeji to Battor in the Sene East District is also another strategic road that the NPP has left to deteriorate.
In fact, the region is hugely inundated with developmental problems.
EDUCATION
Let us look at the area of educational infrastructure relative to the Bono East Region. It is trite knowledge that, while His Excellency John Dramani Mahama was President, he prioritised educational infrastructure for which reason he initiated the construction of Community Day Senior High Schools, mostly called the E-Block schools. Under his initiative, hundreds of E- Blocks were built at various stages of completion and others completed and handed over to beneficiary communities. Thanks to him, Bono East Region was not left out. Communities such as Abaase, Techiman, Krobo, New Longoro, Bassa, Kokrompe and many others in the Bono East Region benefited from the magnificent school blocks. However, there are two uncompleted E-blocks in the Bono East Region. Namely Anyima in the Kintampo South District, which was 80% complete and another at Donkronkwanta which was 60% complete before NDC left power. Regrettably, the NPP has allowed the projects to rot in the bush. How unfortunate! The story regarding abandoned school blocks are numerous, the Kuwait funded infrastructural projects at the St. Francis Seminary and Senior High School located in Buoyem have been left in their sorrowful state. Still in the Techiman North District, the Dining Hall project at Guakro Effah SHS, which was started by the NDC government, has also become stand still with no effort to complete it. We may have to pause here since these abandoned projects are almost inexhaustible.
SECURITY
There is an emerging threat of Fulani herdsmen invasion of some districts in the region. It appears that the NPP has had a soft spot for these nomadics, most probably because of the second lady’s family. Consequently, their activities are having devastating effect on farms and affecting the livelihood of the people. Nkoranza North, for instance, is one of the hardest hit districts regarding the activities of Fulani herdsmen.
As we indicated above, the list of abandoned projects in the region is inexhaustible. What is, however, ridiculous is the posture of Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia. He has been recently all over the place crying for the steer. Then we ask, what does he need the steer to do? You are currently the Vice President entrusted by your boss – the president to bring development and economic transformation. Unfortunately, from the above revelation of the state of the region, this means that you have failed woefully to deliver. We are aware that, your abysmal performance is not limited to the Bono East Region alone but the whole country. So why will someone with the records so bad like you have, still want to be handed the steering wheel to now completely destroy the country or do what differently?
Upon the numerous lies being peddled around by H.E. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, non of our Clergy, Traditional Authorities and Zongo Chiefs/Imams were able to question him of the lies in his statements. It took Miss Abdul Aliu Jariya of Krobo Nursing Training College to expose Alhaji Bawumia on the restoration and payment of nursing training allowance. God/Allah used her to expose Bawumia as an unrepentant and pathological liar in the annals of our Ghanaian political history. The harassment and threats that Miss Jariya is receiving from some hooligans from the NPP fraternity will be fiercely resisted by all legal means available. It is refreshing to note that Hon. Unas Owusu – the NDC Bono East Regional Chairman led a delegation to Krobo Nursing Training College to dialogue with the College Authorities making sure Miss Jariya is protected throughout her stay in the school.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the press, it is surprising how governance has been cheapened by the flag bearer of the NPP Alhaji Bawumia.
On Friday, while meeting the Clergy at Techiman Presbyterian Church, he was full of praises to the churches for the massive development in the areas of education and health, hence the need to be given incentives to the churches. In fact, Dr.Alhaji Mahmudu Bawumia was emphatic that he will give incentives to the churches should he be given the steering wheel of Ghana which is highly impossible, In Shaa Allah. Lo and behold, Bawumia told a group at North East – his home region that the promise he made to the churches in Techiman in the Bono East Region was a joke. Now that we have another joker and flip-flopper as flag bearer of a political party, we need to expand the National Theater in Accra since they failed to deliver their manifesto promise of building theatres in every region of Ghana for more of such jokes because Ghanaians will be glad for more of such jokes than handing over the presidency to a pathological and an unrepentant liar who now doubles as a political joker and a flip-flopper. Again Alhaji Bawumia ordered his aid in the person of Hon. Anthony Abayifaa Karbo to arrogantly drag off both the MP for Techiman South who doubles as Minister designate for Local Government and Rural Development – Hon. Adjei Mensah Korsah as well as the the Bono East Regional Chairman of the NPP – Chairman Ibrahim Bukari Baba embarrassingly from the podium at the Youth Connect Programme held at Techiman Community Centre. When well meaning Ghanaians chastised Alhaji Bawumia’s guard for orchestrating such dastardly act, Mr. Kwarteng Jona – NPP Communications Director for Techiman South Constituency explained that, the uncivilized act by Alhaji Bawumia meted out to the duo was a joke between Hon. Anthony Abayifaa Karbo and the duo. Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press, Fellow Countrymen and Women, for how long will Alhaji Bawumia and the NPP take Ghanaians serious? How do you joke on such a serious platform with cameras all over? The jokes are becoming synonymous with the name Alhaji Bawumia and Ghanaians can never entrust the leadership of the country into the hands of serial jokers.
LIMITED VOTERS REGISTRATION
Both the Nkoranza North and South Constituencies have vowed to resist any attempt by the NPP to transport foreigners from Mampong, Mamponten and the North to register in both constituencies. The two Members of Parliament for Nkoranza South and North Constituencies Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum and Hon. Joseph Mensah respectively and their Constituency Executives fiercely resisted the activities of the NPP in this barbaric act on Monday the 12th of May, 2024 to protect the credibility and sanctity of the ongoing voters registration, as well as the 7th December,2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
Fellow Akatamansonians, Media Friends, Ladies and Gentlemen, let it be known to all who have made it an agenda to bus foreigners to the Bono East Region during this limited registration and yet to commence transfer of voters to the Bono East Region that, those activities will be strongly resisted with all the legal means available to us as a Party.
Well, let us conclude that, if he desperately needs the steer even though he has no idea how to drive, we think that the one that was provided to him by the Techiman magazine workers is sufficient to cease him from crying for steer.
Thank you.
Signed
Suleman Mohammed – Mustapha
