The leadership of the Nkoranza South NDC have given a stern caution to all citizens who are not RESIDENTS of Nkoranza South to resist any attempt to come and register in the Nkoranza South for the purpose of voting. This has become essentially important following the chaotic incident that occured at the Nkoranza South electoral Commission’s office on Monday, 12th May 2024.
On the date mentioned above, The Parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic party in the Nkoranza South Constituency brought people who are completely alien to Nkoranza. These aliens are predominantly from Asante Region. Some of them notably from Mampon and Mamponten. This act clearly is in trite contravention of the electoral regulations.
The NDC members in the Nkoranza South has vowed to resist this barbaric act with all their strengths and hence warning that whoever attempts to do this does so at his or her own risk.
In a strict opposition to this, The Parliamentary candidate of the NPP again brought *macho* men as usual from Techiman to cause further brutalization.
This brought about a lot of controversies and Confusion. The entire registration came to a halt for about three hours. The place became so chaotic that the Nkoranza Municipal police could not handle the situation until reinforcement and other taskforce were brought on board to help calm down the situation.
In a brief statement, the NDC through their Communication’s Officer in the Constituency, is sounding a cautionary message to all parents especially to counsel their children to desist from engaging such dangerous adventure.
We further warn the unsuspecting and these innocent youth to register at where they reside. THEIR LIVES ARE INSECURED if they are not a resident in Nkoranza South Constituency and they still stubbornly decide to come and register in the Nkoranza South Constituency.
