Bono East Youth Wing Exposes NPP Youth Grand Scheme to Attack Nursing Trainee Who Questioned Bawumia About Nursing Training Allowances

The Bono East Youth Wing is deeply troubled and gravely concerned by the recent egregious incident that are unfolding after a public engagement involving Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. It has come to our attention that certain members of the NPP and their assigns are clandestinely orchestrating a disturbing attack on a trainee nurse, Abdul Alim Jariya, who had the courage to raise pertinent questions regarding the disbursement of much-talked-about Nursing Training Allowances, which are in arrears for her three years in school.

The incident occurred within the context of a public forum dubbed “Bawumia Connect with Bono East Youth” at the Techiman Community Center. Here, the Trainee Nurse, representing the voices of countless others, sought clarification on the prolonged delay in the disbursement of nursing training allowances—a matter of significant concern affecting the livelihoods of nursing trainees nationwide. It is expected that all patriotic people would have sympathized with Ms. Jariya and her colleagues.

Regrettably, instead of engaging in constructive dialogue and addressing the legitimate concerns raised, some members of the NPP are resorting to acts of intimidation and violence on the innocent trainee. This blatant disregard for the fundamental principles of democracy and the attempt to silence dissenting voices cannot be tolerated.

The actions of these individuals represent not only an assault on freedom of expression and democratic values but also pose a grave threat to the safety and well-being of citizens exercising their constitutional rights. Such reprehensible behavior must be swiftly condemned and those responsible held accountable.

In light of these disturbing developments, the Bono East Youth Wing calls for an immediate and thorough investigation by the relevant authorities to ensure that those responsible for orchestrating and perpetrating this cowardly attack are swiftly brought to justice. Accountability must be upheld, and the rule of law must prevail.

Furthermore, we wish to express our unwavering solidarity with Abdul Alim Jariya and all individuals who refuse to be intimidated or silenced in their pursuit of accountability, justice, and the protection of democratic values.

The Bono East Youth Wing reaffirms its steadfast commitment to advocating for the rights and welfare of young people and stands resolute in defense of democracy, freedom of expression, and the rule of law.
