Limited Voter Registration: Go and register – Mahama urges

The Electoral Commission (EC) will commence this year’s limited voter registration exercise today Tuesday, May 7, ahead of the December 7 general elections.

The 21-day exercise will end on Monday, May 27, 2024. It aims at individuals who have turned 18 years old since the last registration to be enrolled in the national album.

Also, according to the EC, the exercise will be conducted at its district offices and in difficult-to-access electoral areas.

“Permanent centres will be set up at the District offices while mobile teams would be used to register eligible applicants in the difficult to access Electoral Areas. The list of registration centres will be provided to the Political Parties no later than twenty-one (21) days to the Registration exercise,” the EC noted.

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama urged all people to register onto the electoral roll to enable them to vote in the 2024 general elections.

He wrote on his X platform “Do you want to see real CHANGE in Ghana? Do you want to help build the Ghana we all want? Then you must register with the Electoral Commission if you are not yet a registered voter.

“Your vote for John Mahama and the NDC on December 07, 2024, is crucial in shaping the future of our country. Don’t miss out on your chance to make a difference. Register to vote and be a part of the change we all want to see.”

His counterpart in the New Patritoc Party, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia also encourages persons to take part in the exercise.

In a post on his X platform, Dr Bawumia said “Make your vote count in December. Kindly register now and help better Ghana with bold solutions for our future. It is possible!”
