The NDC Bono Regional Women’s Organizer, Hajia Fati Abubakar, has charged all women in Ghana, to come onboard to embrace the 24 hour economy policy proposed by the Flagbearer of the NDC, HE John Dramani Mahama.
Hajia Fati Abubakar made this clarion call in her address at the inauguration of the Bono Regional Women’s Wing Working Committee which was held in Sunyani on Sunday, April 28, 2024.
The Bono Regional Women’s Organizer exalted women for their various roles played in the NDC in the Bono Region and their priceless roles extended to the frontiers of nurturing children and conducting domestic chores, to the pinnacle of academia, politics and even commerce.
”The reality is that, the competencies and successes of women in all spheres of endeavors world over, compared to their male counterparts are unparalleled.
Speaking on the theme ”the Bono Regional Women’s Wing’s involvement in promoting the 24 hour economy policy”, Hajia Fati Abubakar underscored the need for women to champion this course as it will bring a lot of relief to them.
”The 24 hour economy is very appropriate, significant and timely for the social, political and economic achievements of women” she stated. Hajia Fati Abubakar further emphasises on how gender equality, empowerment of women, enjoyment of human rights and the eradication of poverty are essential to economic and social development to women.
According to Hajia Fati Abubakar, the NDC is the only political party that deliberately creates opportunities for women and gives women the chance to contribute to nation building. Hajia Fati Abubakar sited the choice of Professor Naana as a classical example and rallied Ghanaian women to vote massively for the NDC in the 2024 General Elections to ensure that women are represented and given the needed voice at the seat of government as the vice president of Ghana.
