In the wake of a resurgence of chieftaincy tensions in Sampa, a town nestled within the Jaman North District of the Bono Region, tragedy struck on Friday, March 29th, claiming the lives of four individuals and leaving six others injured. In response to this unfortunate incident, Bono Regional Minister, Justina Awo Owusu–Banahene, has stepped forward to extend support to the victims.
The chieftaincy dispute, which has long simmered within the community, erupted into violence, resulting in casualties and injuries. In the aftermath of the incident, as the community grapples with the repercussions of the conflict, Minister Owusu–Banahene has demonstrated leadership by offering aid to those affected.
The Minister’s donation, comprising MILO, foodlover 1kg white sugar, and two cans of Nestle Ideal milk, serves as a gesture of solidarity and compassion towards the injured victims. While the assistance provided does not include monetary aid, the provision of essential food items aims to alleviate some of the immediate hardships faced by the affected families.
Furthermore, amidst the escalation of tensions, authorities have imposed a curfew on Sampa Township to maintain peace and security in the region. The imposition of this curfew underscores the seriousness of the situation and the need for swift action to prevent further violence and loss of life.
