The Assemblymember for Wuxor, Have, and Sremanu Electoral Area in the Akatsi South Constituency of the Volta Region, Hon. Japhet Festus Gbede in a two-page petition to the Tunisia, Morocco, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Palestine ambassadors has challenged Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to get his boss the president of Ghana to assent to the LGBTQ+ bill if his earlier stance on the controversial matter is not a political strategy to woo Ghanaians.
I humbly write to petition your highest office as the Assemblymember for Wuxor, Have, and Sremanu Electoral Area in the Akatsi South Constituency of the Volta Region over the Western country’s pressures on our country, Ghana under the aegis of the EU-ACP to join countries that legalize lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) relationship, he said.
Mr. Gbede who said the conduct of the Vice president cum the 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party is playing as a paradoxical figure in the LGBTQ brouhaha added that Dr Bawumia should be challenged by the Arab world to publicly condemn the president for delaying the passage of the bill into law.
The conduct of Dr. Bawumia, the 2024 flagbearer of the NPP who has also not been able to muster the courage to tell the president who is his immediate boss that the practice of the strange sex forms is totally at variance with Ghana’s culture and the holy and glorious Qur’an seems to be against the practices in Islam which Prophet Lut (peace be upon him) condemned homosexualism by saying, ‘Do you lustfully approach men instead of women? No, you are an ignorant people (Glorious Qur’an 27:56) should be critically watched by the Arab countries, part of the petition has stated.
The angry Assemblymember has appealed to the Arab countries to immediately challenge the government of President Nana Addo Danqua Akuffo Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to shun the LGBTQ+ accord as the act remains satanic, heartlessness, immoral, perilous, luciferous, and abominable and also against the order of nature and Allah.
