Former CEO of GIPC Mawuena Trebah passes on

Mrs. Mawuena Adzo Trebah, the elder sister of the late Komla Dumor, is reported dead. Details of her death are not immediately known.

Mrs. Trebarh was the first female to be appointed substantive Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) from April 2013 – January 2017.

Her extensive and diverse experience in senior executive positions includes Ashanti Goldfields Company Ltd starting as their first female underground exploration geologist, Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd., head of Corporate Communications and Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN) as head of Corporate Service.

She was also the founding director & Chief Business Strategist at Inspire Africa. Mrs Trebarh died on Thursday, April 11, 2024, a day before her birthday.

She’s survived by her husband, Flt LT Divine Trebah, and their daughter Katherine Joy
