Adwoa Safo refutes Ken Agyapong’s assertion, denies being picked up by a private jet from the US to Ghana

Sarah Adwoa Safo, the Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, has strongly refuted allegations made by Ghanaian politician and businessman Kennedy Ohene Agyapong concerning the provision of a private jet for her return to Ghana following an extended holiday in the United States.

Among the accusations addressed by Safo is the claim that Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, provided her with GHS120,000 and insisted on being appointed Deputy Majority Leader before attending Parliament.

Speaking on Onua FM with Nana Yaa Brefo and JB, Adwoa Safo dismissed all other allegations made by Ken Agyapong, branding them as baseless falsehoods.

“It’s all lies,” declared Adwoa Safo, in reference to Agyapong’s claims. “Kennedy Agyapong has apologized to me. You can come to Parliament to interview him on the matter,” she revealed.

Addressing questions about whether she believed Agyapong played a role in tarnishing her image and contributing to her loss in the constituency’s candidature, she attributed her defeat to the will of God. She mentioned that, for the sake of the “children she has with Kennedy Agyapong,” she preferred not to comment on it.

The MP went on to advise Ghanaians on the importance of fact-checking information before spreading it, urging individuals to exercise caution and diligence in discerning the truth.

Adwoa Safo lost her parliamentary seat to Mike Oquaye Jnr. in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries. Representing the Dome-Kwabenya constituency since 2012, she faced a formidable challenge from Mike Oquaye Jnr, son of the former Speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye.

The primary, held on Saturday, January 27, saw Mike Oquaye Jnr securing a significant 1,194 votes, ultimately surpassing Adwoa Safo to become the NPP parliamentary candidate for Dome-Kwabenya.

This outcome sets the stage for the upcoming general elections, with Mike Oquaye Jnr now positioned as the NPP’s candidate for the Dome-Kwabenya constituency.
