In a remarkable move towards fostering positive change through education, the Lordina Foundation and the International School of Accra (ISA) recently formalized their commitment by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU signifies their joint efforts to provide scholarships for bright but economically challenged students, underscoring the pivotal role of education as a catalyst for societal transformation.
The ceremony, attended by the Board of Directors of the Lordina Foundation and the Principal along with Board Members of ISA, marked a significant milestone in their shared mission to make quality education accessible to those in need.
Under the terms of the MoU, the Lordina Foundation will annually nominate a deserving student for enrollment in either the Cambridge programme (Grade 1 to A level) or the International Baccalaureate Diploma (Grades 11 and 12) at the International School of Accra. This initiative reflects the organizations’ dedication to empowering young minds, recognizing the potential of education as a driving force for positive societal change.
Pastor Kwame Boateng-Sarpong, a Board Member of the Lordina Foundation, praised the importance of this partnership, describing it as a testament to the collective commitment towards fostering positive change. He expressed gratitude to ISA for their generosity in providing this scholarship opportunity, highlighting the profound impact it will have on the lives of deserving students.
Pastor Boateng-Sarpong emphasized that acts such as this showcase the true essence of education as a powerful tool for societal transformation. By providing educational opportunities to those in need, the Lordina Foundation and ISA are actively contributing to breaking down barriers and creating a more inclusive society.
Representing the ISA, Professor Elsie Effah Kauffman shared her personal journey, highlighting the critical role scholarships played in her own education. Professor Kauffman also underscored the institution’s unwavering commitment to affording deserving students the chance to pursue their dreams through quality education.
Acknowledging the Lordina Foundation’s invaluable support in championing similar causes, Professor Kauffman characterized the collaboration as a natural progression towards a shared vision of empowerment through education. The partnership stands as a testament to the belief that education is a transformative force capable of unlocking the potential of individuals, irrespective of their economic backgrounds.
This collaborative effort between the Lordina Foundation and ISA opens a pathway for bright yet disadvantaged youth to realize their full potential. By providing these scholarships, the organizations are not just investing in individuals but also in the future of society, fostering a generation of empowered individuals ready to make meaningful contributions.
