The National Communications Officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi Esq, has engaged pragya riders in Sunyani, the regional capital of the Bono Region.
The engagement took place at Penkwase High Tension on Saturday, 3rd February, 2024 in the late evening.

”We all know the number of employments that the introduction of these tricycles (Mahama can do) have created after they were brought to Ghana by the former President and our Flagbearer, HE John Dramani Mahama. Today, as a result of these tricycles, aside making transportation accessible to everyone in our communities, most youth now have a sustainable sources of income.
According to Sammy Gyamfi, the cost of transportation would have been at the roof top but for these tricycles in these economic quagmire by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia led NPP government.
Touching on the prospects of the 24 hour economic policy by John Dramani Mahama, the NDC National Communications Officer highlighted how this policy, which has been described by the Secretary General of Trade Union Congress (TUC) will create more sustainable job opportunities for these pragya riders.
”Assuming Sunyani runs 24 hour economy; what it will mean is that, people will be in town at any point in time, moving from their homes to their workplaces and once they move out from their homes to town, they will need pragya riders to transport them. This means that, while one person rides at day time, another rider will have the opportunity to ride the same pragya at night, bringing more revenue to the owner of the tricycles while creating more jobs.
Sammy Gyamfi, further announced that the next NDC government, led by President John Dramani Mahama, will put in place all the requisite legislative instrument to regulate the operations of tricycles and okada in Ghana in order to have a smooth operation of their activities.
”President Mahama brought in these tricycles and as part of his campaign massages to you, promised to regulate your activities in the 2020 elections. President Mahama has reiterated this promise to regulate your activities when he becomes the next President of Ghana”. The National Communications Officer, then urged all pragya and okada riders to embrace the policy and serve as campaign ambassadors for this 24 hour economy policy wherever they find themselves.
