Claim that NDC and NPP are the same is pure hogwash brewed from deeper recesses of hell – Dr Kwabena Donkor

The Member of Parliament for Pru East and a former minister for Power, Dr Kwabena Donkor has described as ”hogwash” attempts by disappointed NPP sympathizers to lebel both the NDC and the NPP as the ”same”.

The NDC Member of Parliament for Pru East in his write up gave a number of reasons that makes the NDC distinctively different from the NPP.

In his writeup titled ”why the NDC must be different” Dr Kwabena Donkor observed that there is a confusion created in the minds of people by NPP sympathizers who claim that both NDC and NPP deliver same products and that there is no difference between these two political parties.

Dr Kwabena Donkor, who did not only refuted this claim indicated that the NDC draws its inspiration from progressive nationalism, a left of the center Party with solid transformational antecedents of which same cannot be said about the NPP.

Kindly read the full statement below;

Why the NDC Must be different.

I have observed the seeming confusion in the minds of a segment of the Ghanaian population when it comes to the differentiation between NDC and the NPP especially under the Nana Addo/Bawumia leadership.

Product differentiation is critical in marketing particularly in the political arena. I have heard particularly from disappointed NPP sympathizers that both Parties are the same and deliver the same product. This is pure hogwash brewed from the deeper recesses of hell.

The NDC, drawing inspiration from progressive nationalism is a left of the center Party with solid transformational antecedents. What do we stand for?

1. Progressive nationalism that puts the interests of Ghana (and the working class, farmers, fishermen, indigenous businesses and the welfare of the Ghanaian polity) before all other interests be such personal, sectional, ethnic, crony capitalism or partisan.

2. The socio-economic development of the country on principles that are progressive, equitable and all encompassing. We recognize that different parts of the country have different but complimentary endowments that have to be tapped for the good of the commonwealth. Opportunities must be created for the historically disadvantaged to improve their lot and join the mainstream.

3. Confidence in the Ghanaian and the ability of the Ghanaian to rise to the occasion if led by a leadership of integrity and motivated for the good of all.

4. The NDC believes the Ghanaian has the competence to think through development challenges and come out under the leadership of the NDC policies which not only address today’s challenges but also forge a path for tomorrow’s structural, economic, social and technological transformation that moves the country from dependency to leadership on the global political economic space.

5. The NDC is a party of political and moral integrity that does not preach one thing and does the other. The NDC is consistent both in or out of government. We are honest enough to accept where we err but strong enough to defend our principles.

6. The NDC does not criticize just to let our opponents look bad. We criticize when the national interest is being undermined by greed, avarice and incompetence.

7. The NDC is constantly striving to improve national discourse by infusing knowledge, dedication, nationalism and managerial competence fit for purpose.

8. The NDC embraces the principle of democratic centralism when we demand to thoroughly discuss issues before Party position is taken. It is in our DNA ???? for varied opinions to be considered and evaluated prior to decision making.
Can we say same about the other side?
We are the NDC.
