As an elite constituency in the Ahafo region, which has one of the nation’s premier Othopedic hospital which serves almost 65% of trauma and Othopedic cases recorded in the country, one of the industry players which contributes to about 10% of the country’s GDP, the only Physiotherapy, Orthotics and Orthopedic College of health, a midwifery training college, police academy, Tanoso Community Health Nurses Training College, Yamfo college of Health , Bomaa polyclinic amongst other special which has contributed significantly to the growth of our country.
Fortunately for us here in Tano North, we’ve had some great personalities who hail from our constituency, and their contributions to the national economic building cannot be jettison away without a mere recognition, come to talk of the lives of Hon. Nana Kwadwo Seinti, former Brong Ahafo Regional Minister under elsewhere John Agyekum Kuffour Administration, Hon. Freda Prempeh, a three term member of parliament and minister of state under the current Akuffo Addo led NPP government , Dr. Gideon Boako who is the economic advisor to H.E the vice president of Republic of Ghana.
In a regrettable turn of events, all the aforementioned personalities have done nothing monumental towards the growth of Tano North constituency, despite of the special facilities and great edifice put in place to enhance the livelihoods of the the people in the constituency and beyond, the municipality is confronted with challenges such as bad roads, poor sanitation, network challenges, water and sewage problems.
Despite voting for people for the NPP since 1996 with several great and strategic appointments made to people from the municipality, absolutely none has yielded better fruit to the constituents of Tano North municipality.
Freda Prempeh despite being in office as a member of parliament for 12 year and a minister of state for almost 8 years have done nothing to improve the conditions of life for the people of Tano North with a believe that the people of Tano North needs nothing to vote for the NPP, all you need is to with the primaries and your are a member of parliament, because in Tano north when a “monkey” is decorated with NPP colours they will still vote for the monkey despite a human being representing the other political party and with this unfortunate perception in mind, she has taken the people whom the power belongs to for granted.
Dr. Gideon Boako on the other hand, has given me the greater shock of my life, as an economic advisor to the vice president who is the head of the economic management team, lobbying for projects to your constituency is just as simple as the flip of your finger tips, but he also knowing that the people of Tano North needs no respect, and that their conscience and integrity can be bought with just a small amount of money, has refused to seek to improve and inspire the lives of the constituents but rather manipulate them and use their old system of vote buying and other corrupt ways to becoming the NPP parliamentary candidate.
My question, to Gideon Boako is,
1. On what legacy does he want to use to lead and inspire the people of Tano North?
2. As an economic advisor to the vice President, did he , out his comfort zone at presidency visit the Duayaw Nkwanta -Bomaa road to see how the people are suffering?
3. Is he aware that, the deteriorating nature of Yamfo – Bomaa- Tepa road is affecting agriculture growth, Business and worsening the already existing hardship in communities along that stretch that fall within the Tano North constituency?
4. Is he aware that lack of quality drinking water causes several diseases and sicknesses to the people he wants to lead?
In posing same questions to Hon. Freda Prempeh and adding that,How does she think making the people poor is the only way she can buy their conscience?
We in the NDC, at the Tano North constituency would want to categorically state without any revocation that, whoever the NPP brings as their parliamentary candidate is an unmatched candidate for the NDC and this time round, people of our dear Tano North constituency are saying enough of the deceit and disappointments and that they are ready to cause a change, and of course a change that will seek to develop our constituency, a change that will transform livelihood and a change that will seek prosperity for all and not a selected few.
END.
Signed.
