Ghana’s head coach, Chris Hughton, has expressed his desire for the Black Stars to perform at a high level, enabling them to secure victories at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Black Stars are poised to kick off their campaign against Cape Verde in their Group B opening game at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, tomorrow, Sunday, with the match scheduled to commence at 8 pm GMT.
Reflecting on the team’s preparations ahead of the clash, Hughton remarked on the positive atmosphere during the pre-tournament camp in Kumasi.
“It was a good camp. Very good spirit. The players are very well prepared. You can only have expectations if we perform well enough. Our objective is that we’re able to play at a good and high level that allows us to win the game,” stated Hughton ahead of the crucial AFCON encounter.
