Hon Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Commemorates 10th Anniversary of Sungmaale FM and Extends Generosity to Orphanages in Wa

The Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, Hon Joyce Bawah Mogtari today graced the 10th anniversary celebration of Sungmaale FM, a local radio station in Wa.

Joyce Bawah who was the keynote speaker spoke on the theme “Impact of Media to Sociopolitical and Cultural Development in our community “. Madam Joyce who was hailed by all speakers as a distinguished and an exceptional mother, lawyer, wife and aide to the incoming president touched on variety of issues ranging from the role of the media in shapping the society, the pervasive and gargantuan corruption under this government, the culture of silence that has engulfed the media and the excruciating hardships that Ghanaians are currently going through.

She also appealed to the media to help explain and market the concept of the 24 Hour Economy and what Ghanaians and businesses stand to benefit if it’s implemented, God willing when Ghanaians give NDC the mandate. In her speech, madam Joyce indicated some of the benefits of the 24 Hour Economy as espoused by H. E John Dramani Mahama.

She said the policy will create decent and sustainable jobs to our unemployed youth. She also indicated that the policy will make Ghana a net exporter rather than a net importer. She said businesses will get incentives, so that they would be able to double their workforce thereby creating a 24/7 economy.

She therefore made a passionate appeal to everyone to vote for the NDC to form the next government in order to create an enabling environment for Journalists and Media houses to work effectively and efficiently without fear of intimidation and harassment as enshrined in the 1992 Constitution.

Hon Joyce was presented with a citation for her exceptional leadership. She was accompanied by the Regional Vice Chairman, Kwame Mumuni, the Regional Women Organizer, Prisca Domenyevi Kuupol, the Regional Communication Officer, Issah Kantagyere, the NDC Regional Director of Research, Prof Hamidatu Darimani Saaka, Wa Central Constituency Chairman, Issahaku Sidiki Famina and his executives, Women groups and a host of party faithfuls.

As a mother and as compassionate as she is, madam Joyce also took time out of her tight schedule in the late hours of the day to visit TWO ORPHANAGES both within the Wa Municipality, where she donated assorted items to the children. Items donated include:

1. 10 bags of rice (25kg)

2. 10 cartons of tin tomatoes

3. 4 bags (50kg) of sugar

4. 10 boxes of key soap

5. 10 boxes of Jama bar soap

6. 10 boxes of Bienco soap

7. 12 cartons of soft drinks

8. 20 bags of sachet water

9. 5 cartons of toilet rolls

10. 10 cartons of frytol cooking oil and

11 some packs of cooked food

At Home of light Islamic orphanage located at Ahiyor, madam Joyce donated 2 (50kg) bags of sugar, 17 bags of sachet water, 8 (25kg) bags of rice, 10 cartons of soft drinks, 10 cartons of tin tomatoes, 5 cartons of toilet rolls, 10 cartons of frytol cooking oil, 10 boxes of key soap, 10 boxes of Jama cube soaps and 10 boxes of Bienco soap.

Sheikh Ahmed Yaakub who spoke on behalf of the school authorities thanked madam Joyce for her kind gesture and promised that, the items would be used for the purpose for which they are donated. He offered special prayers for madam Joyce. He quoted some Quranic verses which said that, anybody who feeds an orphan will also be fed by Allah both in this world and the hereafter.

Naeem Ahmed who spoke on behalf of his colleague students prayed for madam Joyce, her family and the NDC to come to power, so that madam Joyce would be able to get them more amenities.

From Ahiyor, the team also went to Child Support Ghana located at Xavier extension.

At child support, madam Joyce made a donation of 2(50kg) bags of sugar, 2 (25kg) bags of rice, 2 cartons of frytol cooking oil, 2 boxes of key soap, 3 bags of sachet water and 25 packs of cooked food. The students sang songs of praises for madam Joyce and also offered her special prayers
