Central Regional NDC Communications Bureau Condemns Attack On Journalist

The Central Regional Communications BUREAU of the National Democratic Congress unequivocally condemns the attack on Ohene Kwame David, a Journalist with the Cape Coast based FM Station- Cape Fm, 93.3.

The attack took place at the Central Regional Coordination Council, where the Vetting of Parliamentary Candidates of the NPP was on – going.

According to the Victim, followers of Madam Mavis Hawa Koomson approached him with a picture of His biological brother and asked why he did stories that did not favour their candidate. As he tried to explain that he was not the one in the picture, he was lynched amidst slaps to his face from the followers of Mavis Hawa Koomson.

We publicly declare that the NPP should be cautious of such needless behaviour against Journalist. It is an afront to free speech and the practice of democracy.

Such assault is distasteful and we urge the Ghana Police Service to institute a full scale investigation to bring the perpetrators to book.
