Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman for the National Democratic Congress, has jabbed the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia for what he termed as ”deceiving the Bono Region” with their traditional history.
According to Mr Nketiah, the old known tradition of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been turned outside down under the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government.
According to Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the NPP tradition has been ”Busia/Danquah Tradition for all these years until Akufo-Addo became the leader of the NPP changing that established tradition.
”For all these years, the NPP tradition has been Busia-Danquah tradition which has suddenly been changed by Akufo-Addo to ”Danquah-Busia”.
”Surprisingly, NPP regard Busia as one of the huge figures on which the NPP was founded hence the Busia-Danquah Tradition. One would have thought that, once the NPP regard Busia as a huge figure within their party, the Akufo-Addo led NPP government would initiate projects in the Bono Region to honour him but that has not been done. Sadly, projects that were initiated under the Mahama administration have rather been abandoned.
The National Chairman of the NDC made these statements during a press conference in Sunyani on Wednesday, 22nd November, 2023 on the painting and renaming of the Sunyani Regional Hospital into a Teaching Hospital which was launched on Saturday, 18th November, 2023 by the Minister for Health, Hon Kwaku Agyeman Manu.
