‘I’ve been offered huge sums of money to step down; NPP will lose if I do so’ — Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Agyapong, a hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position, has said he plays a critical role in the party’s electoral success.

During an interview on Tamale FM, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central disclosed that despite offers to withdraw from the contest, he remains unwavering in his commitment to the party.

Mr Agyapong firmly believes that the NPP’s electoral successes could not have been achieved without his active involvement and efforts.

He stated, “Without me, the NPP can’t win elections. Do you know how many people are begging me?

“You know, the money that they’ve offered me to step down? If I step down, we will lose. With the sacrifices the party people have made, I cannot selfishly take that amount of money and leave them to their fate.”

Kennedy Agyapong cautions the NPP never to attempt sideling or dumping him in whatever form following the flagbearer election.

He stated, “How can NPP dump me? If they dump me, they will go into opposition. We all need each other.”

He added, “You see, the NPP will always want to use you and dump you. I will not allow them to dump me anymore; I won’t do it. I will not sacrifice for NPP, for my children, my family, and generations to be humiliated.”
