Ningo-Prampram Member of Parliament Sam Nartey George says he cannot take moral lessons from a “brothel” after he was urged to apologise for his reference to the Director of Security of the Bank of Ghana as a watchman.
He repeated that Wing Commander (rtd) Kwame Asare-Boateng, who was delegated by the Governor of the central bank to receive the leaders of the #OccupyBoGProtest, is a “security head or a watchman or an access control officer”.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawmaker came under heavy criticism for describing the retired army officer and lawyer as a “watchman”.
“I owe nobody an apology and like I said I won’t take moral lessons from a brothel,” Sam George blurted out on New Day on TV3 on Wednesday, October 4.
He contested references made to previous demonstrations under the Mahama administration, citing how the Deputy Chief of Staff, Valery Sawyerr, for instance, was delegated to receive the petition from the #OccupyFlagstaffHouse protesters.
The Minority leadership decided not to present the petition to Wg Cdr Asare-Boateng (rtd), insisting that Governor Dr Ernest Yedu Addison or one of his two deputies should have showed up to receive them.
