Sunyani East has no delegates – Sunyani East NPP Chairman to Dr Bawumia ahead of his visit on Thursday

 

 

The Sunyani East Constituency Chairman for the ruling New Patriotic Party, the NPP – Mr Frank Musah Damtarl, has send a strong signal to the vice President’s campaign team as they intend to visit Sunyani on Thursday, 5th October, 2023.

The incumbent Chairman indicated that the Sunyani East Constituency has no executive at the polling station, across the zones as well as constituency executives as the electioneering activities regarding their internal elections have been pending in the Sunyani High Court since May, 2022.

 

In a press statement released on Tuesday, 3rd October, 2023, the incumbent Chairman chronicled the protracted lawsuit and cautioned the campaign team of Dr Bawumia to be weary of any section of NPP members who will come to them as delegates as there are no delegates in Sunyani East. Mr Frank Musah Damtarl subsequently urged all NPP members and sympathizers to throng to the venue to meet the vice President and his team on Thursday.

DR ALHAJI MUHAMMUD BAWUMIA TO VISIT ALL NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY MEMBERS IN THE SUNYANI EAST CONSTITUENCY.

 

I am writing on the above subject matter, craving the indulgence of all the rank and file (MEMBERS) of the New Patriotic Party in the Sunyani East Constituency that, His Excellency the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana shall visit the Sunyani East Constituency on Thursday, October 5th, 2023.

 

The venue of the meeting is at the Methodist Cathedral, adjacent to the Sunyani coronation Park, and the time is exactly, 6 o’clock in the evening.

 

It is important to also note the following:

 

1. Sunyani East Constituency of the New Patriotic Party has NO polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, and constituency executives because of the pendency of lawsuits against it.

 

2. The Sunyani East Constituency issues and problems are still before the High Courts in Sunyani as well as the Legal and Constitution affairs committee of the New Patriotic Party.

 

3. Neither the High Court nor the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee has brought finality to the problems of the sunyani East Constituency.

 

4. In fact, on the 11th day of May, 2022, the High Court in Sunyani, set aside any purported Constituency album for the Sunyani East and per its orders directed the National Headquarters of the New Patriotic Party to delete names or persons purporting to be delegates for the Sunyani East Constituency and all the proof of services are available on the Courts’ dockets.

 

5. On countless occasions, the General Secretary, Justine Frimpong Kodua, alluded to the fact that there are issues in sunyani East Constituency, and a committee had been set up for a fact finding mission and the report of the said committee has been referred to the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee awaiting its out.

 

6. Nonetheless, Lawyer Gary Nimako, who is the Secretary to the Constitutional and legal affairs committee of the New Patriotic Party has filed at the High Court ” Change of solicitor” in the pendency of the lawsuits against the Sunyani East Constituency.

 

7. When Hon Kennedy, Agyapong visited the Sunyani East Constituency during his campaign tour, he met all the rank and file of the Party at the Pentecost Central Church, Sunyani and not some selected few purporting to be delegates when there is none.

 

8. In view of the foregoing, the vice-president of the Republic of Ghana and flagbearer aspirant is most welcomed in the Sunyani East Constituency.

 

9. Finally, all the party members, sympathisers, and supporters of the vice-president are cordially invited in attendance.
