The United Kingdom government has unveiled a series of adjustments to immigration and nationality fees, set to take effect from October 4, 2023, impacting essential services.
In this move, the UK government has outlined several fee alterations. Most notably, the cost for visit visas with a duration of less than six months will experience a substantial increase, rising from £15 to £115. Likewise, the fee for applying for a student visa from outside the UK will climb by £127 to reach £490.
This increment aligns the fees for in-country applications. It is worth noting that a formal bill has been presented before the UK’s Parliament on September 15, 2023, awaiting the crucial stamp of approval.
The UK government, in an official statement on its website, gov.uk, stated, “In July, the government announced a 15% increase in the cost of most work and visit visas, and an increase of at least 20% in the cost of priority visas, study visas, and certificates of sponsorship.”
The statement also emphasized the importance of fee revenue in maintaining a sustainable immigration and nationality system within the Home Office.
Here’s a comprehensive list of the current fees and the anticipated changes, effective October 4:
– Visit visa – short up to 6 months: £100 to £115
