VIDEO: Techiman South MP Leads Successful Clean-Up Campaign in Techiman

Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Decentralization, and Mr. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko, Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman, joined forces with the INSHALLAH FOR HON. MARTIN 2024 movement to conduct a four-hour clean-up exercise on Sunday morning, July 30, 2023.

Dressed in their branded Lacoste attire bearing the inscription, INSHALLAH FOR MARTIN 2024, the enthusiastic group embarked on sweeping the principal streets and public areas of Techiman.

Emphasizing the importance of unity through development, the Member of Parliament for Techiman South praised the well-planned and coordinated organization of the clean-up exercise. He urged for continued efforts to maintain cleanliness in the surroundings and stressed the significance of responsible waste disposal, discouraging the dumping of waste into gutters, which contributes to the recent flooding issues in the area.

Hon. Korsah also called upon the Municipal Assembly to provide dustbins at strategic locations to ensure a cleaner environment, and he reminded the public that such practices align with the laws of the land and are crucial for ensuring good health.

Mr. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko, the Municipal Chief Executive of Techiman, appealed to other keep-fit clubs, churches, institutions, and various groups to engage in regular clean-up exercises in their respective areas. This collective effort, he emphasized, would contribute to making Techiman one of the cleanest cities in Ghana and help prevent the outbreak of communicable diseases.

Chairman of the group, Abdul Rahman Seidu, commended the Member of Parliament for his commendable developmental agenda and expressed gratitude to all participants for their dedication to tidying the streets. He assured that the clean-up campaign would continue in the coming months, with a focus on maintaining a clean and safe environment, devoid of political affiliations
