Andy Appiah Kubi Welcomes Calls for Home Searches of Politicians, Including Himself

During a televised discussion on the show Key Points on TV3, Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Andy Appiah Kubi, openly welcomed the idea of conducting searches at the homes of all appointees and politicians, including his own residence. He expressed his readiness to cooperate, stating, “I am inviting whoever to come… I am ready, come or go to my house even as I sit here.”

The discussion arose in the context of recent issues involving the former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, who resigned on Saturday, July 22, following public discourse on her involvement with stolen cash. President Akufo-Addo accepted her resignation, praising her work as “excellent and productive.”

Madam Abena Dapaah, in her resignation letter, assured her full availability and cooperation with state agencies to address the matter. She expressed confidence in being exonerated from all allegations, claiming she conducted herself with integrity during her tenure in public service.

The case involving the stolen funds, consisting of $1 million, €300,000, and undisclosed millions of Ghana Cedis, is currently in court and is scheduled to be revisited on Wednesday, August 2.
