The Sunyani East Constituency has been excluded from the Special delegates conference by the governing New Patriotic Party.
There has been a protracted law suit before the Sunyani High Court where some aggrieved members of the governing NPP are in court challenging the procedure for their polling station elections that were organized largely in most of the country last year.
To these petitioners, there has not been a polling station election and so there cannot be a Constituency Election to elect constituency executives. That is, to these aggrieved members, there cannot be party executives at both the polling stations and the constituency.
A report sited by Masemtvgh showed that the Sunyani Constituency has been put on hold which suggest that the Sunyani East constituency cannot be part of the upcoming Special delegates conference scheduled on 26th August, 2023.
It will be recall that the Sunyani East Constituency was barred from the Bono Regional delegate conference and subsequently barred from partaking in their national delegates conference.
Mr Peter Mac Manu, the Chairman for the National Elections Committee, on one on one interaction on Uniq Radio in Accra, revealed that the Sunyani East constituency will not be part of the voting delegates in their National Elections.
