NDC holds wreath laying event today to mark 11th Anniversary for the former late President JEA Mills

The National Democratic Congress, the NDC, is set to organize a wreath laying event in memory of the former late President Mills.

This solemn event will be held at the Asomdwe Park in Accra at 11:00am.

The National Democratic Congress with the JEA Mills Memorial Heritage over the years, have collaborated to annually celebrate this day.

Series of Regional Commemorative Lectures were organized throughout last year, to mark the 10th anniversary for the demise of Prof. Mills with the last of the second series of the Regional Commemorative Lectures to be held on Thursday, 27th July, at the Business School Auditorium of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi.

Former late President John Evans Atta Mills passed on as a sitting President on Tuesday, 24th July, 2012.

According to the then Chief of Staff at the Castle – Mr John Henry Martey Newman, President Mills passed away while receiving medical attention, at the 37 Military Hospital.

The demise of Prof. Mills has become germain as he is the first person to pass on as a sitting president in Ghana’s democratic history.
