The Chamber of Local Governance (ChaLoG) has petitioned the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) over what it described as illegal lodgment of the Government Funds (Property Rates Taxes) into the account of a private company called Digital City Solution Limited (DCS).
According to ChaLoG, the private company is using the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) as a decoy to “perpetuate this blatant illegality.”
“ChaLoG’s investigation has however revealed that the myassembly.gov.gh payment platform account is on the contrary, being managed by DCS and NOT GRA.
“As a consequence, DCS is the entity engaged in the collection and receipt of payment of all property rate taxes (government funds) in sharp contrast of what the GRA made Ghanaians to believe,” the Executive Secretary for ChaLoG, Romeo Elikplim Akahoho disclosed in a petition dated July 20, 2023 to EOCO.
