The Municipal Chief Executive for the Tano South in the Ahafo Region, Mr Collins Offinam Takyi, has been exposed with facts to rebut his deceitful statements made on a local base radio station in Bechem.
The MCE in his recent ‘one on one’ interview made several erroneous and distorted facts which he has been exposed by the Constituency Secretary for the National Democratic Congress in the Tano South, daring him, the MCE, to provide contrary evidence to buttress his points if he has any.
In an evidence base statement released by the NDC in Tano South, the secretary described the MCE as an NPP propagandist who is only interested in peddling lies rather than the truth.
The NDC secretary sited a minutes of the assembly which the MCE admitted that the Subriso road project was one of the several cocoa roads which was awarded under the erstwhile Mahama administration but the NPP had to suspend it for auditing when they came into power in 2017.

DAY OF SHAME FOR TANO SOUTH CONSTITUENCY – SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON MCE HON. COLLINS OFFINAM TAKYI ON HIGHRADIO MORNING BREEZE SHOW ON MONDAY, 10TH JULY 2023
Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi appeared on the High Morning Breeze Show on High Radio for a one-on-one interview with Miss Asantewaa Suzzy. I am compelled to address the MCE directly, as his statements during the interview did a disservice to the municipality. He did not speak as the Municipal Chief Executive representing the President of Ghana but rather as an NPP propagandist. Therefore, I will refer to him as such, as most of his statements about the Bechem-Techimantia-Akomadan road were palpably false. I will now address these falsehoods and provide the truth behind his statements.
1. MCE Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi, the NPP propagandist, claimed that the NDC called a meeting to instruct its communicators to spread the false information that the road is being funded by an NGO. This is categorically false, and I challenge the MCE, the NPP propagandist, to provide the date, time, and venue of this alleged meeting. No NDC communicator has made such a statement on any platform. If the MCE, the NPP propagandist, has evidence of any NDC communicator making such a claim, I urge him to present it.
2. Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi, the NPP propagandist, also claimed that the 40.4km road is being constructed at a cost of €50,000,000 (GH₵625,653,437.50) with an asphalt cost of $1.5million per kilometer and that the people of Tano South have received more than the $1 million per Constituency due to the cost of this road. This statement is unfortunate. Let us make a comparison between the cost of the road under the NDC and NPP to determine who conducted a value-for-money analysis. Under the NDC, the road was awarded to Eugo Terrano, a Ghanaian-owned construction firm based in Tema, at a cost of GHC 6,853,230.89 in 2012, with an asphalt cost of GHC 600,000 per kilometer. In opposition, the NPP, including the MCE Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi, the NPP propagandist, argued that the cost per kilometer of the road was expensive, influencing Ghanaians to vote against the NDC in the 2016 General Elections. Upon assuming power on 7th January 2017, the NPP government suspended all cocoa roads funded by COCOBOD for a value-for-money audit. However, the outcomes of this audit have not been made public to date. The MCE, the NPP propagandist, is being exposed by his own response to a question asked by the Assembly Member for Subriso, Hon. Daniel Abanga. According to minutes of the General Assembly meeting of the Tano South District Assembly held on Thursday, 25th September, 2017 at the District Assembly Conference Hall, Bechem paragraph 9.1.3., the Hon. MCE acknowledged that the road in Subriso was part of the cocoa roads that the NPP government had suspended for a value-for-money audit. This exposes the MCE, the NPP propagandist, and their flip-flopping position. The intention of the NDC in awarding contracts to Ghanaians was to equip and empower Ghanaian contractors to compete on a global scale and keep funds within Ghana to avoid the expatriation of dollars. However, the current NPP government has proudly taken a road contract awarded to a Ghanaian and given it to a foreign contractor at a cost in euros. This is contradictory to their preaching of “Ghana Beyond Aid” and the need to do things ourselves. What has changed that the NPP is practicing the opposite of what they preach? Under Akufo-Addo’s kleptocracy, the contract sum has also been bloated unimaginably from a sum of a little below Seven million cedis under the NDC to over Six Hundred million cedis. A patent nature of this NPP government.
3. The MCE, Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi, the NPP propagandist, further launched a personal attack on the NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Hon. Charles Asiedu, accusing him of being the mastermind behind the alleged propaganda that the road is being constructed by an NGO and stating that Hon. Charles Asiedu lacks integrity. I challenge the MCE, the NPP propagandist, to provide any audio, video, or source document to support his baseless allegation against Hon. Charles Asiedu. The words used by the MCE, Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi, best describes himself, as all his statements today were false and packaged lies. These allegations should have been left to his stooges, and should not have come directly from him. I thought this was below his pay grade.
4. Finally, the MCE, Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi, the NPP propagandist, claimed that he cannot see any projects carried out during the reign of the NDC from the loans contracted between 2009 and 2016. This statement is laughable and an insult to the senses of the good people of Tano South. Today, I will help the MCE, Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi, cure his “glaucoma” by providing him with a few examples of projects undertaken by the NDC government from 2009 to 2016. With these examples of projects implemented by the NDC government from 2009 to 2016, I, as the Constituency Secretary for Tano South, and with all the power bestowed on me by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, and the National Chairman, Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, command any scales blocking the MCE’s vision to fall now, just as Saul’s scales fell off through the intervention of Prophet Ananias in the Bible. Now that the MCE’s vision is restored, I urge him to traverse the length and breadth of the Constituency and proclaim the commendable works carried out by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and the NDC party as a whole.
Signed,
Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong,
Tano South Constituency Secretary,
