Mahama leads Quayson to visit bereaved family and injured victims at Praso and Fosu hospitals

Former President and the Flagbearer of the opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) HE John Dramani Mahama and the Parliamentary Candidate for the Assin North constituency by-election, Hon James Gyakye Quayson led a high powered delegation to visit the bereaved family and injured victims.

Former President John Dramani Mahama on his Facebook page on Saturday, announced this ghastly accident on his wall and temporarily suspended his campaign activities to visit the accident scene.

This sad incident occurred on Saturday when the former President and the Flagbearer joined the leadership of the NDC to intensify door to door campaign for the re-election of Hon James Gyakye Quayson ahead of the crucial by-election on Tuesday, 27th June, 2023.

In a press release issued out by the National Communication Officer Sammy Gyamfi, the hospital bills for the treatment of all injured persons at the Praso and Fosu hospitals have been fully paid and an amount of money deposited to cater for any incidentals by the NDC Flagbearer.

NDC Flag-bearer, H.E John Mahama on Sunday morning visited the husband and family of our comrade, who lost her life in an accident on Saturday at Dansame in the Assin North Constituency.

Together with the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the Assin North by-election, James Gyakye Quayson, national, regional, constituency executives and members of parliament, the delegation commiserated with the family and announced the party’s support as the family begins preparations towards the burial and funeral rites of the deceased.

The family was presented with an amount of GH¢5,000 to assist with preperations towards the funeral rites of our deceased comrade.

President Mahama and James Quayson also visited the injured victims at the Praso hospital to check on their recovery. This was after President Mahama suspended his Assin North campaign yesterday, to visit those admitted at the Fosu hospital upon hearing news of the ghastly accident.

The hospitals bill for the treatment of all injured persons at the Praso and Fosu hospitals, have been fully paid and an amount of money deposited to cater for any incidentals by the NDC Flag-bearer.

The NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Assin North By-elections, James Gyakye Quayson has promised to institute a sustainable support scheme for the children of the deceased.
