The former Deputy General Secretary of the Npp,Nana Obiri Boahen in a rather surprising turn of events, has called on the Npp delegates and its sympathizers to elect a flag-bearer of the Npp from the majority religious grouping in the country in order to win the 2024 elections.
Lawyer Boahen speaking on Big Fm,in Takoradi’s late afternoon show, hosted by Oman Nana in responding to a question as to why he thinks the Npp will break the eight year cycle mantra of governance in this country, called on the Npp to use the strategy of the APC Party in Nigeria to break the 8. He explained how the days leading to the Nigerian Presidential elections gave opposition parties maximum hope that they will win the 2023 elections because of non-performance of the APC party. He said the APC as a party dealt with their unpopularity by choosing a Muslim Muslim candidate to take full advantage of the huge Muslim population in Nigeria to win the elections.
Callers after the program were surprised that Nana OBIRI Boahen who claims to be a supoorter of the Vice President will rather opt for the APC strategy and still admonish Npp delegates to vote for his candidate Alhaji Bawumia.According to the callers who phoned into the program, his candidate, the Vice President is from a minority religious grouping in this country and so for Nana Obiri Boahen to call on the Npp to opt the APC strategy, was to tell the delegates to vote massively against the Vice President.
